CZ452 Scope Rings and a few other questions...

So, I want to scope my CZ452 Super Exclusive.

I've been told by one store owner that the CZ rings for the 452 won't allow operation of the bolt with a scope mounted unless I modify the bolt.

I've been told by another store owner that the CZ rings aren't high enough to allow the use of a scope, because the iron sights will interfere.

I'm tempted to call BS on both of these statements, just wanted to check with you guys before I did. The CZ rings I've seen seem just as high as any other, and it seems unlikely to me that CZ would make and sell rings that can't function on the firearm they're intended for without modification.

On to another question...

What scope in the $100 range would you recommend for the CZ452? It'll primarily be target shooting, occasionally squirrel hunting.

Try rimfirecentral.com they have a whole forum dedicated just to CZ rifles. I have a Swift 4x-12x. AO scope mounted in Beeman scope rings. My CZ452 is a woodchuck killing machine.

Total BS.

The OE CZ rings are about medium high as scope heights go despite being rated as medium by CZ. I prefer using other manufacturers' scope rings as they are a little lower than the CZ ones. The CZ rings re pretty good though, built like tanks. Just don't overtorque the bolts (I've snapped a couple myself).

Partially true. It depends on how big your objective bell is. If you get a compact scope that doesn't have a bell, itis not an issue.

I'm not a big fan of CZ rings. They're crude and tall. I don't care for the suitcase handle look they seem to like in Europe.

I typically use Talley mediums, but with some scopes, the eyepiece can interfere with the bolt handle. It's fairly simple to mod them so you get a good cheek weld and a low mounted scope.
