Does the CZ75 SP-01 have a mag break like the CZ75B? How does the CZ75 SP-01's SA/DA and accuracy compare to the CZ75B?

My SP-01 and P-01 both have drop free mags.

I'm not sure on the SP-01's accuracy versus a CZ75, but it groups really well -- enough so that it makes me look better than I am at the range. Long barrel/long sight radius and all that steel up at the nose means it's pretty consistent and fast between shots.

Yes, the SP-01 has the mag brake like the other CZ's. That doesn't mean the mags won't drop free -- but the brake is there.

My SP-01 is very accurate (more than me!). The steel frame really helps reduce the recoil and keep the barrel on target.

More of a general CZ question

Magazine brake?

Is that the shiny piece of metal (looks like a leaf spring) inside the grip frame? It does look like it could bear against the rear of the magazine, but empty magazines on my 75D Compact PCR drop free anyway.

Yup, that's it. Remember - the pistol was designed for military and law enforcement, so magazines dropping freely isn't necessarily ideal for them. They now make a flat brake that really does nothing more than protect the hammer spring - that was really from all the competition folks who want quick mag drops.

Thanks for the info.:) Since this will be for the range I don't really need a rail. I might go with a standard CZ75B to save cash and buy more ammo.:D

I like the SP-01 better for sure.
Without the Rail....where you gonna put the bayonet?
Just got this one a few weeks ago.

The magazines drop free in my SP-01. You really should consider getting it, very accurate and the 18-rd magazines make extra magazines almost unnecessary. :)

The grip on the SP-01 is slightly different than the standard CZ 75B -- it is contoured like the P-01. Personally, I prefer that to the standard version. That said, with a little trigger work you can make your standard CZ just as nice as the SP-01. If the difference in the grip doesn't bother you, and you don't care about the rail, then there's no reason not to go with a standard model. If you're interested in the decocker only (CZ 75BD) let me know - mine's for sale. (Shameless plug! :D)

As for mags, you can use the 18-rd mag in a standard CZ -- so that's not a reason to by the SP-01. They are completely interchangeable between the various CZ 75 models (and the SP-01 is technically the CZ 75 SP-01).

Just got a SP-01 for Xmas. Its accurate and the mags drop free. I'm gonna use it for USPSA production division.
