Friday I bought a CZ83. Funny thing is the store I bought it from has had 3 CZ83's hanging on the wall for at least 2 yrs.. I looked at them so many times I can't count. 1 .380 with curved trigger guard, 1 .380 with finger rest trigger guard. 1 .32 with finger rest trigger guard. Friday I decide I'm going there and buy the .380 with the curved trigger guard. I walk in the door and there's a guy filling out the 4473 for the gun I've looking at for 2 years. So I settled for the .380 with the finger rest. $250 + tax. Nice gun.

The .32 is more collectable - haven't imported them in a few years. The CZ83 is a little big for it's caliber, and is a copy of the CZ82, the 9x18 service pistol of the Czech military. Good guns, fun to shoot, very accurate. We had one on the rental range....it was stolen, while the Grocks were left behind.... :fire:
BTW, Hakan makes grips for CZ83s, and PCRCCW makes good CCW leather for them too!

Man.......the round trigger guard guns are older, have smoother triggers and are more in demand among us "CZOphiles"...........much like Aladan is to Sigs.... :scrutiny:
You did good none the less......prices are going up on all CZ's and the 83's seem to be higher than the rest.........you are about 100$ under the average price.
You WILL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!..
I challenge ANYONE to find a gun with Trad. DA trigger pull to find a better trigger than the little 83. Thats how good they are.
Shoot it, enjoy it, carry it and be sure to read it bedtime stories................:D
Shoot well........

Only complaint about CZ is the plastic they use on the grips is up so far the only material used on firearms that can't stand up to auto brake cleaner solvent -- they soften.

I'd suggest removing the grips before using any strong cleaning solvents.

CZ83 is a great little gun, although large for its caliber being a blowback its recoil is still sharper than a lot of 9mm pistols.

CDNN has 13-round mags for it on sale for $19.99 right now, I just stocked up :)

Yeah .....I wanted the round trigger guard. But I was 2 yrs, and 20 mins. too late. Just got off the phone with CDNN, Thanks to all for info.

I have a retired Czech police CZ83 and love it. It has the rounded trigger guard and other than some holster wear shows surprisingly little use.

Personally I love it. It fits my hands really well, points very naturally for me, and despite being a blowback doesn't jar my hands like some other blowbacks do.

Oh, and I'm glad to hear about CDNN and the magazines.

Last year I bought the 83 in 9x18.
Slick little gun.
I thought I might even carry it a bit but I haven't found a hollow point that it reliably feeds.
I polished the feed ramp, maybe I'll get it out of the safe and play with it some more. :)

My CZ-83 in .380 ACP is my "everytime" range gun. It's an absolute ball to shoot. :D

WE see interest in the CZ83 pick up as the weather gets warmer. They
are really wonderful little CZs that have few compliants. As Eric mentioned.
The trigger pulls are Dreamy as far as pocket pistol caliber guns go. Recoil is
soft with most loads and accuracy/ability for rapid fire is outstanding!
since it is a CZ there is no issue with reliability with FMJ ammo and I've
had good luck with the feeding of most JHPs.

Mine is an older round trigger guard model with the addition of PT-Nites.
As much as I never wanted any .380. This somewhat small but heavy
Cee-Zed gets my attention when it is hot and humidity is high, and a 13 shot
capacity of Gold Dots makes sense for a .380.

I find the CZ83 to be a safe choice for a female or small handed male that
wishes something out of the ordinary,,ppk, kel-tec or other pocket sized
pistols in .380. superb perfomance at an economy price- with a design that
is virtually 'bulletproof' for durabilty as any handgun can be, WE just hear
of no issues with this gun, other than it's size/weight compard to other
.380s. These seem to be a Plus for the CZ83 in my eyes and those of
other CZ fans who adore the '83. I also think it is the best CZ poster
in the lineup:)
