OK, I love my Ruger MkII, but I need a .22 with a DA/SA trigger, like my Sigs have, so I can get better practice on my shooting with the low cost of a .22.

So here is what I need advice on:

What are my options for DA/SA .22s, and are there any out there that have controls similar to the Sig? I will get a Mosquito if Sig ever sells it here, but I don't want to wait to see if that will ever happen.

I have looked at the Walther P22. Interesting, but it's a little too small for my mitts (big problem), and it doesn't have a decocker or a 'normal' mag release (slightly less of a problem). If that is my only option I may get one, but I was hoping the knowledgable folks here will know of other options.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks, it's a bit pricey, but I will definitely consider it. Have you ever shot one? if yes, how it to shoot, esp the feel of the trigger?

I agree with Hal. Buy a CZ75, then buy the Kadet kit. Leave the Sig at home in the safe. All the .22 practice you can ask for, and it's not just "like" the gun you carry, it "IS" the gun you carry. Of course, this is assuming your Sig is for carry and not just for range use. Try it, you'll like it.

Great plan if I had any say in what I carry, but I don't. My employer requires I carry a Sig 228. I will add the CZ to my list of possibles though, since I have only heard good things about them.

All jokes, as my above comment about Sigs was, aside, the CZ Kadet is a great .22. If you look around you can find a good used one for around $200 maybe. Might be a little high for just a .22, but it is built on the same frame as the 75B. I got a used Kadet kit for my 75B and it has been nothing but perfection. Actually, I did have to do some VERY minor fitting. I think it took about 20 seconds with a dremil tool. Maybe 10 of those was actually grinding. I think this is just an issue with the Kadet kits though. The actual Kadet pistol comes assembled and test fired from the factory, so it is already on the frame.

By the way, these things are scarry accurate. PM me if anybody has any ???s about fitting the Kadet kit.

I have no experience with the Beretta 87, it was just the first thing that came to mind. If it's anything like my 92FS Centurion, then the DA trigger will be pretty nice, just heavy. I also have a P228, and its trigger is also nice, but with a different feel. I know that when I transition from one gun to the other, it takes a while to get used to the new one. I don't how useful it would be to have a non-Sig .22 as a training tool for a 228. For me personally, it wouldn't work too well.

At any rate, the arrangement of the controls is kind of unique on the Sig. It seems like that would be the biggest problem.

Sig has a 7/8 scale DA/SA .22 auto that will be imported soon. Go to their website(german) for more info. I spoke with a rep about 2 weeks ago, and he didn't know when, just soon.

They were going to call it the Stinger, but CCI stopped them from doing so. Name copyright infringement or some other sort of legal crap.
So apparently they called it the mosquito.

Yeah, that's the Mosquito I referenced in my original post. It would be ideal, but there has been lots of talk about it being imported, but no real action. I'm wondering just how long I'll have to wait.

About the only thing I don't like is the additional slide mounted safety, and the rail.
