Model 39s....

They are great pistols, Ive had 2 and would love to find a 639 some day.:)

I have only seen a 639 in a picture on the S&W forum. Mine is like brand new. It was brand new when I got it and I have been careful with it. To me its a prize. I haven't shot it in years. I guess now it would be considered too big for a single stack pistol but I don't care. I like it. :D

Thank you all for your input on my inquiry! Extremely helpful. I went ahead and bought myself a S&W 6906 in mint condition. I held a roughed up one at a local gun shop and loved its DA/SA trigger! Held a new CZ 75 P-01 and fell in love with its grip ergonomics. Not so much with its DA trigger and reset. I also loved the P229, but I'll wait until I can find an Elite out there.
For now, the 6906 will do the trick.

Thanks again to all!

When you get a chance to shoot it let us know how it shot for you.

Stay safe.

If it has to be steel I'd hold out for a 3rd gen Smith. They haven't been made in a while, but are still out there. If open to aluminum alloy there are a lot more options. But the Sig 226/228/229 series are my favorites.
