Hi all, haven't been on the forum long, more of a prowler than a poster i guess.

Got on here mainly for info on my recently acquired Mosin Nagant but I am now looking for info on the rifle that started it all for me.

I've had the Daisy 880 for about 7? years now. its the cheaper plastic version of the line. The mechanics inside are still in very good working order, cleaned and maintained like you wouldn't believe but I now would like to upgrade a bit.

I would love to make some wooden replacements for the cheap plastic stock pieces which are starting to crack. and maybe replace the plastic "receiver" which is splitting as well with a metal one from and older version if that's possible. anybody have ideas, or have done anything like this?

Obviously i don't want to break the bank but any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

for those that are thinking why?... well because I can and would like to. Also a learning experience in woodworking.
