I recall a couple of times my unit got gifts of larger firepower/equipment than we really needed for any conceivable engagement, handed down from more weapon-heavy units.
"Wow, thanks! That's really generous. Yes, we appreciate it. Sure, get some photos for the Base paper."
"Okay, Readiness, Training, Aggressors, who wants to give this a try? Meet us at the range at 1300."
"Wow, that _IS_ cool. Expensive to maintain and a pain to lug around, though."
"Oh, those? Yeah, they're still crated in the back. Haven't opened them up this year, in fact. Why?"
"Sir, we could donate those things to that other unit heading over to the Sandbox. Be good points, and we could ask them for some additional support gear we actually WILL use."
"Yeah, we swapped the two of them and got all THIS. Everyone grab some. No, EVERYONE is getting new rain gear, sleeping bags, extra canteens and the new helmets, and we acquired another trailer, too."
Those with experience: Any bets?
