got a question for those that know dan wessons.
I recently picked up a 15-2, with a 6" barrel which is doing some interesting things.
1. There seems to be a lot of endshake. lots, as in like .1 However, the spring holding the cylinder forward is in good shape.
2. Velocities seem crazy low compared to my other revolvers. I can see it in the targets, my wadcutter loads literally fold and rip the paper, rather than punch through
could this be related to the endshake? somehow the cylinder is sliding back somewhat and allowing that much more gas to escape. I've got the gap right on as per the .06 feeler gauge. and it's very consistent across the chambers. In addition, the accuracy is also fine, and there is no leading at all. Just really low velocities across all my loads.
I have not yet slugged the barrel however, I suppose it could be overly large. but I would also think that would cause leading especially with some of the hotter loads that run about 1000fps in my other 6" wheelguns.
