This may take a knowledgable Dan Wesson guru to answer and I'm sorry its so long but I am not a revolver person and know little about them. Thanks

I just purchased a Dan Wesson Model 15 357. That came with a 4", 2" and 6" barrel. The 4" barrel was the one on the pistol. On the 4" barrel at the base of the frame is a pin that holds the shroud in place, however in the 2" and 6" barrel shrouds there is holes for a pin but no pin for them to lock to. This picture is what they look like except the 4" barrel

but the barrel currently on my DW looks like this

To make this as short as possible, did I get jipped by buying a gun that came with 2 barrels I cant use or is there a shim of sorts that will allow me to mate these other two barrels. Because when I mate them tho the pistol frame my cylinder will fall off?

There are 2 generations of DW revolvers.

Early guns had the "long tang" at the lower bout of the shroud and used an exposed "12pt" barrel retaining nut. The alignment dowell was lower on the shroud on the long tang.

Later model guns had a short shroud and captive "2 slot" barrel retaining nut like your 4". The alginment dowell is much higher on the shroud near the ejector cut.

I've only owned the later model guns personally, but to my knowlege they are not compatible.

Sounds like someone gave you a couple of early barrels that won't fit.

I agree sounds like you got a mix of barrels and shrouds. Pictures of what you have would be helpful. The older shrouds are normally referred to as pork chop shrouds and will not work on the newer models.

You might also want to post this question over at www.danwessonforum.com

As a DW owner, you have a mix of barrels and shrouds.

Start hunting for exposed nut shrouds and barrels or call DW and see what a conversion would take to do.
