Dan Wesson barrels and shrouds

I'm looking to get a 3" or 4" barrel and shroud for my Dan Wesson model 15, but they no longer list them on the Dan Wesson web site. I've tried contacting them, but can't get through and they haven't answered my emails.

Is something go on with them again? Does anyone know another source for DW barrel assemblies?

I see them occasionally at a few of the local gun stores.

The problem is that they expect to get almost as much for a barrel/shroud as they do for a used,complete gun!

I don't think there was ever a 3 inch barrel, but they sure made a ton of 4 inch barrels and shrouds. You will see them on eBay and occasionally at gunshows. Up until recently they were listed on the DW site, but it seems some things have disappeared since they upgraded their website.

natchez advertised them on a blowout sale a month or two ago. I have a DW m15-2 with all heavy vent barrels and shrouds in 2.5, 4, 6, and 8, with all the tools, pistol pack case, etc. i think the 6-inch shroud and barrel was $125 as a set at natchez. www.natchezss.com

That price sounds good. Back in the late 1980's when I had a DW 15-2 I paid $102 for a brand new six inch heavy vent rib barrel. Bought it through my local gun shop. DW made some great revolvers, I hope they are not getting out of the revolver business.

Well, after saying that I didn't think DW ever made 3 inch barreled 357's, this turns up on Gunbroker.

That 3 inch M15VH looks to have been cut. See the set screw for the front sight on the side of the barrel rib? The DW has the front sight screw in the very front of the shroud.
Becareful when you buy. Everything isn't always as they say.

You are correct! That escaped me! The shrouds with the solid rib are pretty easy to shorten, just cut 'em, mill the end flat and 90 degrees to the sides of the shroud and counter sink the muzzle end for the barrel nut. DW Barrels usually have a 90 degree muzzle, so that isn't too hard to do either.
