I am thinking of getting a Dan Wesson supermag for fun. I like the idea of being able to use spcs, mags, and supermags.
Does anyone have any experience with them, esp with the 4in barrel?
Thanks.

I toyed aroound with the idea of getting a .414 supermag from DW, and once stumbled onto a box of brass.
You know, the kind of brass they sell in 50 packs.
Just the empty brass is pricey.
Made me rethink my position on that.
My current lust is a gary reeder custom blackhawk originally chambered in .41 mag, that can shoot (With different custom cylinders) .41 magnum, .41 GNR (.44 mag necked down to .41), and .410GNR (.454 casull necked down to .41).
Boom, BOOM, and BOOM .
Muhahaha.

I have a Dan Wesson 445 Supermag with a 8", 6", and 4" barrel. It balances very similar to my Dan Wesson 44 Mag. Same frame, just lengthend for the supermag rounds. I also converted a Marlin lever action to the 445 Supermag round. I have the guns and have collected some load data, and have even purchased the brass (Starline is making the brass with rifle primer pockets now) and powder, I just have not had time to reload any rounds and try them out. I will try to post again after I have some experience from the firing line.

I have a .445 8" VH with unfluted cylinder. Big and heavy, recoil not bad. Wonderful selection of sights. Accurate and hard hitter. I got a very early one before you could get brass, so I made it from .303 British. Works good. I don't like bullets under 240 gr. in the SuperMag loads, and forget about plated bullets - use cast or jacketed. Also, bad luck with conventional magnum powder (H110/W296) THE powder for this cartridge is AA1680 (replaces W680). I never carry it anymore 'cuz its so heavy. Let me know if you have more questions.
