I have a DW 744,I bought back in 1982 or so.Anybody here use a DW or have any info on them.I don't hear much about them any more.

I have a DW model 15 with the 6 and 2 inch barrels. it is one of my favorite shooters, and is very accurate.

I've got a DW 44VH-8 that I bought new in 1985. Bought a ported VH-4 assembly for it, back in '94 to hunt wild boar with.
I have several different stocks and sight sets for it, too.

I orginally bought the DW for IHMSA competition. Extremely accurate revolver. Easily the most accurate long range revolver that I own.
This revolver will NEVER be sold!

I have a DW44v6 and a DW15v6, both very smooth, very accurate, and heavy enough to handle the magnum loads. Well worth keping, IMO.

I've got a .357 pistol pack, just got an additioal 4 inch hv barrel from CZ's Dan Wesson Division, so at least some parts are still available.

I own two DWs. One pistol pak in 357 and one in 44mag. Both have the 4", 6", and 8" barrels. I love them. They shoot everything I throw at them (provided I do my part aiming and setting the cylinder gap). I have recently added a muzzle brake to my 8" so that I could run hotter loads through it. My brother (a gun smith) modified a vias rifle brake to replace the nut.

Like the other people have said. No chance of selling these. Someday I will ADD a 445 to the collection.

Dan Wesson revolvers were some of the most accurate production revolvers ever made. The lockup at both ends of the barrel is the key. Keeps the barrel stiffer.

Unfortunately not many people know a lot about DW and resale value suffers greatly. There is a lot of rumor out there that the guns are junk, but that's far from true.

I had one many years ago and sold it. I would love to find a nice one to add to the stable.

Steve is right. CZ owns them and there is rumor that the revolvers will be in production sometime in the future.

I used a DW 744 8VH for silhouette in the ‘80s. It shot very well. I got a 357 Super mag, but it war erratic, accurate sometimes, not others. I sold it. I still have the 744. I just put a light 6” barrel on it. Much more useful at the moment. It still shoots very well.
