Darn was it cold today. I was determined to get to the range though. I only took 100 rounds with me; 50 rounds of Independence 230gr. RN and 50 rounds of Federal 230gr. RN. My first target was 10 yards away and here it is:

My second target was 10 yards away also:

My 3rd and final target I moved out to 15 yards:

Overall, this is the most awesome semi-auto I have ever owned. It is very light, but well balanced. The recoil was surprisingly mild. I had expected more especially since I was shooting 230gr. I had no jams or any other problems feeding ammo through it.
Now....my only gripe is that I got pelted in the forehead, cheek, and eyelash by ejected brass.:cuss: It did not really hurt, but it caused me to flinch while shooting, hence my shots to the left of the target. I would have to say that 1 round out of every mag came at me like it wanted to bite me. I even had one land and go down my shirt. So....I absolutely love the gun, but would like to know what's up with the brass coming back at me? By the way I was not limpwristing and I had a firm grip on it while shooting. Thanks for any input.:D :D

Oh yeah...is it me or are .45's a pain in arse to take apart and put back together?!?!

Probably ejector shape. May need a radius. Don't over do it. Could also be extractor tension.

It must be you. I have a 45 CBOB and love it and it takes down as fast and simple as all 1911's do.

Some CBOB's do that with the brass. Mine used to do it much more frequently than it does now.
Easy to take down.
How did the case hit you in the eyelash? Why the heck aren't you using safety glasses?!?!

I can't do it all the time, but sometimes I can get credit card sized groups @ 25 yds. with my blued Dan Wesson Pointman 1. Sweetest shooting firearm I've ever shot.

Sorry, I meant right above my eyebrow. Of course I wear eye protection (or should I say shell protection). Whatever the reason I don't like it.

I've had my CBOB for just about a month now & just love it. We are currently at about 700 rounds & have developed a bit of fine tuning issue...great gun, I'll get past the fine tuning & I know I have a great shooter! ;) Congrats on your DW CBOB! :D

My local gun shop contacted Dan Wesson about the brass flying in my face and they want me to send it in for some fine tuning at their cost. I just have to send it in. I will be dropping it off tomorrow and when I get it back I will post my results.

Good going...nice to hear good things about a company I've just invested some $$ into one of their products

I just picked a 10mm CBOB and have made a few changes...Got the parts from Fusion and its just about ready...:what:

10-Ring I got the CBOB set up like I want it and before I can take it for a test drive I get SICK...all sorts of green stuff coming out of me...:barf: YUCK! So I think I'm going to live and I've got some 10mm ammo and will give a range report shortly. The trigger and hammer are from Fusion parts owned by Bob Serva...now that he is no longer working for Dan Wesson he is building top quality pistol parts.

Well, I guess I am just retarded because after looking at my Dan Wesson it appears that I don't have a CBOB, I have a Commander Cls Bobtail. So it is a Commander Classic Bobtail for what it's worth. It is still one sweet 1911 though!
