Thinking about getting a Valor in 45acp Commander size. Have 38 Super in Pointman great gun. Wondering if anyone had Valor in 45 and what is your take on it? Suppose to be top of line in Dan Wesson just wanted guys that have one take?
Thanks

I hear they are great I held a Vbob once duty treat finish and now I want one really bad top of the line as far as production 1911’s go in my book!

I have a VBob and it's an absolutely wonderful 1911. Parts, fit, finish, all supurb.

Mine is in .45 ACP and it moved me to the "all my next 1911s will be DW" camp, as they are a solid spot between quality in cost.

It's obviously no Wilson, but I do shoot my VBob better than my Dads CQB.

I will note that I did have a small issue where the hammer rusted unacceptably fast (compared to other high carbon parts in my safe), DW's customer service was fast and excellent.

My first 8 shots with the brand new VBob at 10 yards.

I have an older original DW Valor Govt length in .45ACP with the Novak style sights and it is simply the best handgun I own. And I have a lot of good ones.

Thanks for replies fellows I agree great pistol. I recently compared feel slide trigger all side by side DW to a Les Baer and I felt DW was the nicer gun in feel Les Baer might be more accurate I don’t know. But for major price difference I couldn’t justify Les Baer over DW

I previously had a 5" stainless Valor and. Black VBOB. I have owned twelve 1911s, but only one has been a commander size - the VBOB. The gun was nice, but I prefer the less recoil of the 5 inch model

A few months ago, I picked up my first DW - a Guardian in .45. Phenomenal handgun. My 1911 purchase for 2019 is absolutely going to be a Valor.

I got this VBob recently and am really impressed with it:

The fitting and polishing was done by perfectionists. I have some Sig 1911s that I really like, but this is definitely a notch or two above those. There wasn't a single problem during its break-in period, which surprised me since the slide is really tight.

I hope you'll share a photo of your Texas when it arrives!

I have a basic stainless Valor purchased new in early 2016 I think. I know more money can be spent but I honestly don't see how it would be improved upon. It's the only one allowed in my stable with that gigantic beaver tail.

I had a Valor (5" model), and it shot great. I foolishly, foolishly sold it to a friend. When I asked to buy it back from him a few months later, he declined. I don't regret many firearms-related decisions, but I regret that one. If you have the cash, go for it. The DWs are a good value, in my opinion.

Beautiful pistol need clean lube try her out for a spin. Phone doesn’t do it justice
