Got my 2nd Dan Wesson!

Shipreck, you have mentioned that your full size Valor is your favorite 1911 of all the 1911's you have ever had. What makes it your favorite? Just curious. I occasionally occupy my mind with the hunting of a future 1911. I really like Nighthawk but have recently been curious about the Dan Wessons.

Well, I have never had thin grips before - because I never cared for them. On the Valor, it just feels perfect - especially with the checkering. The checkering on the DW also feels better to me than the checkering Brown uses. It's sharper, but not overly sharp.

I also like the visual appearance of the gun - the bushing and slide stop that they ise are a bit different than what are on other 1911s. And, I have only ever liked 3 dot sights. I've fallen in love with that rear sight that is on the Valor.
