First disassembly of my Redhawk. Pulled the trigger assembly. Studying it, I pull the trigger to understand how it works. This sets loose the pawl spring and plunger. It's so tiny that I didn't notice it at the time. I kept reassembling it and became increasingly frustrated trying to figure out why it wasn't functioning. Studied the schematic and realized there was a hole with something missing! Luckily it only cost me five bucks to get those two pieces replaced. I spent an hour on my hands and knees trying to find it. I'll know to be careful of that next time.

Normally as soon as your new parts arrive you will inevitably find the old ones hiding somewhere. But if you don't order replacement parts - they will be lost forever. I have torn my shop apart looking for tiny parts that took flight. They will remain hidden until you buy new parts. Trust me on this.

Get some large clear plastic bags and a magnetic bench mat. If parts fly out (which they always do) they are caught in the bag. Doesn't hurt to oder some small parts anyway.
