so im reading some posts here on thr and theres a post about a guy getting his AK built by Iron clad armory. Now this gets me to thinking about this little matching PSL kit with barrel I have sitting here that ive been wanting to build. BUT, now that these things arent around with barrels anymore I really dont want to screw it up. So I email these fine folks and get a price to do the build which is a little more than a regular AK, but still very reasonable.
So, its off to the UPS store early next week to send a package to these fine folks to "get er done". Hopefully in a couple to few weeks, I'll be recieving a running PSL back in the mail!

Congrats! You will soon learn that firearms in general gets to be a pricey hobby/sport/occupation.

I didnt know until recently about companies that specialize in making your build kit for you. I think kit building will become very popular in the near future considering what higher price the market will stabilize on. Hopefully we will see an influx of parts kits hit the market that would be awesome. A nice fresh built PSL, you're a lucky man jim mac. Please tell me you've been saving up x54r to enjoy that rifle with, lol. You never know surplus for that caliber can and will dry up eventually......remember the 8mm mauser......now i have a 15 dollar a box rifle if im lucky

A friend and genius Mike Six at Hickman Rifles in Colorado Springs built him a short 16 1/2" PSL. At first I thought, "why?" but then it all made sense. What a fantastic short rifle shooting a potent, and at least for now, readily available cartridge.

ive got 2 crates of ammo for the PSL right now. And I do remember the 8mm mauser. I have about 1000 rounds for my turkish mauser so Im good to go there for awhile. I may order 1 more crate (880) rounds just to have.
The problem with the kit builds is the GOVT has a barrel ban, so unless you can find a source for cheap barrels your kits going to be expensive to build.
The egyptian crutch folder kits are back in stock. a few months ago they were 199 without a barrel or receiver. Todays price? 299 without any extras. Plus you need a barrel and receiver. I picked up a romanian G kit the other day for 340, matching with barrel still in the trunnion. Add in the 922 parts and reciever I'll have about 450 bucks into the AK when its built. jim
