Danged pawns!!

I was up at my local hangout, just looking again, like I did a month ago when I got "pushed" into buying that Colt Trooper, same guy too. I was forced into buying a S&W 38-44 this time, this antique was made in 1937, ser. # 40***, nice gun and all, but I've got to quit going up there. Its about 75%, original grips, bore is very, very nice, no end-shake, very tight also. It cleaned up really well, just need to Tru Oil the grips, really nice piece. I have pics taken, but not able to upload onto the website, this really did happen guys, I swear it did! The only good thing about this S&W, I'm now totally broke, no Starbucks' monies either!

Yeah sure, just as I believe those stories when someone posts: "Look what followed me home from the gunshop". What they do, twist your arm until you said you would buy it, or did they make you an offer you couldn't refuse?

In any event you've got one neat old revolver there and I hear drinking a lot of coffee isn't good for you anyways, so this turned out to be a win-win situation.

Seriously though...stop drinking that overpriced stuff and you could probably get a new gun every week with your savings.

I wasn't really forced into anything, I'm 63, a big boy by now, I know when a vacuum salesman is approaching. I'd seen that S&W when I bought the Colt, just more intrigued with the Pony at that time. The pawn had an old Colt Woodsman in the case, that was what I was actually wanting to look at....... it was gone! The 38-44 is a heavy dude, I wasn't aware they were that stout of a revolver, the first one I'd ever hefted. It sure beats some of the newer ones being put on the shelves now a days, I'll try my best to get pics posted. I don't buy Starbuck's anyway, couldn't afford reloading supplies.

Darned on-line banking. I got caught yesterday when I bought a tac light. I told the wife I saved 50 bucks by getting this one on sale for only 79.95.

She uses that on me after all...

I had already spent my cash on a holster for my J-frame, and could't pass up the deal on the light.

I know the feeling. I walked into my LGS yesterday to pick up my new .45 and there on the bottom shelf of the counter was a 4" S&W M29 four screw. As soon as I picked it up I new I was in trouble. While this one shows a lot of holster wear it locks up tight.

I can't afford to pay a premium price for a collector grade one, but I can afford to buy one in this condition. I like to shoot my guns anyway so one in this condition is perfect for me. It has the wrong stocks on it, but I know where a set is for a reasonable price.

I had to put in on layaway since I just bought the .45 so it's not home yet. I did go back today and took a few picture of it.

Mechanically strong
but cheaper because of some inconsequential cosmetic issues.

I know about all of my bad habits, 3 revolvers outta that place in 3 months. I've got to quit going in there, I can't reload fast enough to keep the suckers fed now! I was just trying to be nice to the guy.......
