I have a new Colt CCO pistol, and I noticed when shooting it last week the fired brass seems to come out with some very light parallel scratches from base to mouth. Upon disassembly and cleaning it appears the rifling looks fine, but the chamber looks dark, almost tarnished. I have not noticed this in my other handguns, and I'm worried that the extra friction will effect reliability. Not to mention that I'm a little surprised that a Colt would come with such a rough chamber.
Here is a picture, I'm sorry all I had was my phone, but you can still see that the chamber is very dark, this is after scrubbing with a bronze brush and patches. It is not dirt or carbon that has built up, I just bought the gun new, and have put probably less that 100 rounds through it.
Would I be in the wrong to contact Colt about this? The color doesnt bother me, but the scratches do.
