I gave my Glock 20's barrel a good scrubbing tonight and discovered what looks like either a crack or a scratch in the chamber. It's about 2/3rds of the way in from the breech end and runs from roughly 11 o'clock to 12 o'clock (as seen from the breech), perpendicular to the axis of the bore. Dragging a toothpick over that spot, I can definitely feel resistance.

The gun has ~2000 rounds through it, probably 70% CCI Blazer and 30% Winchester and Double Tap. NEVER any steel-cased ammo. NEVER scrubbed with a stainless brush; only a nylon brush and patches with solvent. No ruptured cases, blown primers, or anything else out of the ordinary.

The one possible cause I came up with was that it could be caused by the mouth of a case scraping along the top of the chamber as it's being chambered. However, if I insert a loaded round into the chamber by hand, I can't feel it catch on the scratch/crack. Besides, both brass and aluminum cases should be significantly softer than the barrel steel. I'm a bit puzzled.

I'm planning to call Glock tomorrow or Monday. In the meantime, has anyone seen this in a Glock chamber before?

Edited to add: I also just noticed what seems to be a very small pit at about 4 o'clock. I can also definitely feel this one with a toothpick.

Well, I took a close look again today, with fresh eyes and better light. It's a small scratch. I'm confident that nothing I did caused it, so Jim Watson's theory is probably correct that it was caused by the chamber reamer. It's never caused a problem so I'm just going to keep an eye on it for now.
