A few years back m brother and I purchased a pink cricket 22 rifle for my oldest daughter. I had the distinct pleasure of taking her to break it in on Sunday. For the last few weeks we would drill in the garage on gun safety and how it operated. I had a wonderful time though I shot very little. She even put one round through my ar-15.

cute youngin you have there. i love to see parents get there kids involved with responsible shooting at a young age. i was probably 5 or 6 when my dads .22 hit my hands. she looks pretty dang happy. keep it up.

A pink hat
A pink gun
A purple coat with a pink flower
A huge smile

It's that kind of scary picture that keeps the anti's up at night shivering under the covers.
:what:

Obama must be having shivers up his spine...

Cute kid! Is that Mama smiling with approval in the background (hard to tell from the pic)?

That's very cool 1moa -thanks for sharing the pics - looks like you guys had a great time!

Nice! That's the same pink cricket I showed my 8 year old yesterday trying to convince her to shoot. After showing her your pictures, she has agreed to go shooting. THANKS for sharing!

Hello friends and neighbors // Looks like a perfect day

Very nice rifle young lady!
You also shot your Dad's Armalite Rifle, that is a big day!

Definately one neither of you will forget. I look foward to the day my nephews and nieces are responsible enough and big enough to go shooting.

Thanks for posting.

Awesome! How old is she? I'm still trying to decide when to let my six year old move up to a .22. He's still on the bb gun. :)

PS: The 10 round AR magazine makes me sad. :( Especially on a carbine.

My little monkey is 7 mo. old......is that to young to start shooting???? LOL LOL LOL!
Ohhhh I cant wait till she is 8 or so I'm going to get her the very same gun.
Thanks for sharing!!!

I bought that rifle when she was 4 or five but it is never too you to start. I made her a promise that if I was shooting and she wanted to go that she was always welcome to come. I will always make time for the girls in my life. I had more fun watching her shoot than shooting myself. She got bored fast but I saved the day by letting her shoot full water bottles. She loves the reactive targets

Lucky kid. The gun-grabbers are going to have some trouble with this. A little girl with a pink gun simply doesn't make folks shake in the boots.

Wish somebody had taught me about guns when I was a kid.

Since you started it, don't complain when she shoots up all your ammo. :) It makes me happy to see new people get into shooting no matter how young or old they are. The AR was probably a little hefty for her but how did she handle it? Your going the right direction by starting while she is small on small guns.

Edit : adjustable AR stock = adult length to kid length in an instant amirite?

The Thing I did with the ar is to rest the forend on the back of a chair and Single feed it. I didnt want any rapid fire when I know she couldnt control it. I did frame that pic, its now my screensaver. In a few weeks I will take the wife and both my kids to the same spot and camp for the weekend. I am a blessed man, I just had to pass on what was so freely given to me.:D
