Was listening to his new show on the radio on the drive in, and when I turned it on, he was going over 3 of the 4 rules of gun safety. He was telling stories on why he believed people should be able to have a gun if they choose, and that he thought safe gun handling should be taught to everyone at an early age. The wording of things wasnt the best, but he was really showing his serious opinions from the sound of things.

He says he keeps a ready gun at home, but doesnt carry or want to carry. Dave also told stories of why he keeps a gun around and how he and his family have been affected by crooks with guns and how they dont want to be victims, so they train regularly, and that just having a gun and thinking it's a built-in man thing to be able to shoot is a way to get killed.

It's still on now if anyone wants to catch it. It's on 94.1 in Philly.

he took over howard stern's show? (if so, it sounds like a dramatic improvement)

Funny...I seem to remember him being busted for drug posession several times. In most states, that'd bar him from owning guns (especially California). I guess the rules are different for celebrities...

david lee is of course jewish,so he probably knows his beans about self preservation.

No DLR fans? :(

I'm pretty sure Dave still does do the EMT thing. I kept listening at work on and off and it sounded like he still does. And he is the new morning show in place of Howard from 6-10. It's his second show so far, and it has been mostly clean but still hillarious so far. But anyway...

No matter who it is, and esp a well known person from CA and now NY, going in front of large audiences and saying it's the idiots that dont responsibily operate their guns and not the guns themselves are the problem, how can anyone be upset? Everyone gets excited when Uncle Ted gets in people's faces, but when DLR has a semi-serious discussion, it's a joke.

I was happy to hear it at least. This must be part of that "apathy stage" in those other threads floating around lately.

Wow-

A well known celebrity who has a jillion listeners makes positive statements about firearms and well, just read most of the comments....:banghead:
Everyone here should call or write and thank him for having the courage to say so (I am).
BTW I'm not a huge Stern fan but he was more pro gun than the many republicans I can name...

Diamond Dave as an EMT...I don't know if I would want to wake up after some accident and see DLR hovering over me telling me "Dude, just relax and chill, we're gonna fix ya' right up."

That would be like some bizarro Twilight Zone episode.

Davis Lee Roth has done more for Sirius Sales in 2 days than Howard Stern did in 6 months. The guy's NOT good.

He was rambling about how he supported the 2 week waiting period and how he had a triple standard with guns... (It's ok if I have one and YOU have one, but I'm not sure about the rest of the people) to his EMT instructor, a woman of about 45 who said she truly felt that gun ownership acted as a deterrent to crime.

So even though it was a painful listen, I listened... I'll be glad next week that I purchased my Sirius so that I can get back to lighthearted fun and professional radio :)

Yep, and this image of old David came to mind for his EMT work.

But at least DLR knew how to put on a show in his heyday. Unlike Howard... :barf:

I stopped listening to stern years ago when he had a LEO on as a guest and stern said he hates guns. I realised he was a liberal washout. stern also praises michale moore and that peta whore pam anderson.

What does it matter that an entertainer does or does not like guns? In the realm of guns, is Roth and expert, historian, or political figure trying to protect our rights? Is he somebody that has been an outspoken advocate of guns and gun rights? No? Then he is just some guy. Besides that, he is an annoying guy.

Now there's a class act - David Lee Roth.....:barf:

Howard Stern & his minions = morally bankrupt.

The gun culture need more shining examples like these two, to educate and promote our values to newcomers and our youth.

i'd say it matters because actor/entertainers have big audiences that worship the ground they walk on. if my man David Lee says "guns are good" then guns are good, period. far better than an actor/entertainer that says "guns are bad", let alone the scum actor/entertainer that says "guns are bad", and then uses guns in a movie, to make a living. also any pro-gun/gun-owner/RKBA person matters in my book. he will be heard louder and farther than you in a this forum.
