    Hello everyone

Yes, I made the mistake of buying a Davis derringer in .22MAG to play around with. I brought it home, cleaned it up and went out to try it out. I loaded up, pulled back the hammer, pulled the trigger...and click. The gun didnt fire. :cuss: Didn't even make a mark on the rim.

I thought that there may be some problem with the firing pin. So that leads to my question: Do the Davis derringers have anything in the firing pins that give it tension? Such as a spring.. The firing pins will easily slide in and out just by moving the gun around. I dont have much experience with Davis or derringers at all. That just seem abnormal to me.

I'd like to get the gun in working condition if possible. Any ideas or suggestions and answers are always appreciated. Thanks!

Is the cross bolt safety in the fire position?

Check if the hammer selector is moving properly.
I bought a broken FIE 38 Special derringer that failed to shoot it's bottom barrel.
Had to replace the hammer frame completely and the hammer selector spring (which was the main culprit to why it would not fire). I got a new spring from Cobra Arms and the thing has gone boom every time.

Are the firing pins supposed to move so freely?

Also, does anyone have a picture of one with the grips taken off, for comparison? I can't seem to find any on the internet.
