I've been considering building up a gun with a light rail and think the DP bolt-on rail is rather neat. Bad thing is that I haven't heard anything about it other than a short review in the Surefire publication.
The pros seem to be that it can go on any 1911 and not mess up holster fit.
The con is that it requires a dedicated light that has to be adapted for it.
Still, it's a rather neat gizmo and doesn't bugger the lines of the weapon like some other designs.
Of course, that Caspian Recon Rail frame is rather sharp and might be a better option.
