Great day at the range today with my S&W EZ-9 and my S&W 617.
I started by shooting the 617. I had replaced the front and rear sights so it was time to sight it in. I started at 10 yards, got my center and then moved to 15 yards. I normally sight in at 15 since it gives me a good 7 - 35 yard setting for Steel Challenge Matches.
I fired 140 rounds using my DS-10 Speed Loaders. They really take the time to reload out of the equation.
Groups were within 3 inches at 15 yards off hand. I was shooting Remington Golden Bullets so I know they will be tighter with my Federal BYOBs. I didn't want to waist them on sighting in,
Next I took out my EZ-9. This is my home defense gun and CCW weapon of choice these days. I like how easy it is to rack, to load and to shoot.
I started at 7 yards on a Bianchi Target and kept all rounds inside 1/2 of the X zone. Not bad shooting for a little gun. It always surprise me on how little recoil there is but I could feel it today after just shooting the heavy 617.
