Since my husband is still out of town...I decided to gather up some old computer parts and head off to mom's for some target practice (alot easier to clean the mess up there then at my local range)....the following links are from a Conner hard drive which took 3 shots from a 45 acp at about 8 ft.

The one in the upper right is the hardball (had 2 shots hit same area, but only one stayed in drive, the first shot formed a nice flat lead "coin" which I gave to a friend) and the other hole on the left is from a hydrashock. None of the bullets fired at this drive penetrated it  The other hard drives however disintegrated quite nicely and without such hassle :D

The first one is showing with the original faceplate laid on the top:

This second one, I moved the faceplate off so you can see the nice hole the hydrashock left.

Here is a picture of the back

Tried both my Llama and my Baby Eagle 45's and neither one would penetrate it lol....on a side note, the Eagle fires dead accurate as opposed to my 1911 which shoots a bit low and to the left....

(edited because I forgot to show the back side)

The part of this little "range report" that I like the most, is not only is a woman doing the shooting, but that she enjoys (or even just thought of) shooting old comp parts!!! Thats just great! You know, this may be an avenue I need to explore for getting more 1st time woman shooters out there. Nothing says it's time to shop for new appliances like a dryer sitting at the curb with 10-20 .45 cal holes in it! No matter how confused a man would be at that sight pulling into the driveway, it would warm his heart to hear " And after Home Depot, lets swing by the gun shop and look at 1911's" :D
