Hey guys. Im pretty new to this site but I had a question I was hoping some of you Garand guys would be able to help me out with. I was planning on sending my Garand down to Dean's Gun Restoration. I heard they do excellent work. I was just wondering if any of you who have sent your Garands there might be able to show a pic just so I could get a better picture of their work, or even just post about your experience with them. I just want to make sure I'm sending my Garand to the right place. Thanks.

Do a search on Dean's at the CMP website. Never had him do anything but everyone on the CMP forum thinks he does well.

This is mine; a Springfield in a Clear Maple stock/Type 1 finish. Top notch experience start to finish.

I think the best part about the work was the metalwork/refinish. Nice, sharp rollmarks and inspection marks remained after the work, which isn't always the case when lesser craftsmen reparkerize these old guns.

I'm thinking about having Dean do a carbine for me, same wood/finish.

No problems there-

I had Dean rebarrel an M1 into a .308...shoots great, nice neat job. I think you'll end up happy- I did, and that's where my next M1 restoration is going.
