Just heard on FoxNews. Apparantly the grass roots were heard. Seems as if the Shamnesty bill is dying in the Senate as we watch.
Good job!!

If you want to follow the live votes Aye/Nay for Cloture turn on CSPAN2

Its like watching paint dry but I want to see how this turns out......Harry (Warbucks) Reid has vowed that he will pull the bill from the floor if he doesn't get the 60 votes required for Cloture.

Vote for Cloture on the Shamnesty Bill has failed tonight....this is apparently the SECOND TIME TODAY.

Reid has pulled the bill from the floor for the time being but is going to try to bring it back in the coming weeks according to his speach.

Reid (D) and McConnell (R) BOTH want this bill to fly because they've worked "So Hard" on this bill not because its a good bill.

The People do not want Amnesty...its time to call your Senators and tell them to can this bill and start enforcing the laws already on the books....build the fence they authorized last year....fund the hiring of the Border Guards they authorized last year......NO COMPROMISE!!!!!

Call the main # for Congress 202-225-3121 and ask to be connected to your Senator.

While you're on the phone make sure you tell them you oppose any bills that further restrict your 2A Rights.

I'd write my senators (South Carolina), but there's no need (or use!). One (DeMint) is solidly and adamantly against the bill. My hero!!!

The other (Lindsey "RINO" Graham) is one of the brokers of the bill, and unashamedly touts it, despite mass opposition in SC.

Sadly, by the time the next election for Graham's Senate seat arrives, all the fine 21st Century voters will have forgotten Graham's fiascos (this isn't the first, but he'll surely clean up his act for the year or so prior to the election; that's all it'll take . . .:( ).

My motto: "ABL" ("Anybody but Lindsey") I swear, I'll vote for a Democrat in preference to that hypocrite!!

Anyway, I hope everybody else continues to bombard their (hopefully attentive) critters. I kinda suspect some of the original supporters just wish this would go away!

You might consider calling your Senators - if they supported your position, that is - and laying an "atta boy" on 'em. A few of those go a long way.

Biker

And stay vigilant. You know they will try this again when the uproar dies down. Don't let 'em slip it by when you aren't looking.

Yes, but while true, longeyes, that doesn't make it particularly good. While the "freedom movement" might be getting more militant and more vocal, and more aware it is also still an underdog. And, some bad things can happen between now and when amnasty happens.

The '08 elections will be quite interesting, because I believe we will see interesting candidates from a number of states running for House seats. I also believe it will be the last chance for the Republicans to save themselves (although I don't have much hope for them).

Overall I don't have much hope for a good future, but I feel really bad for folks in the border states. If they pass amnasty, I sincerely believe you will have a war on your hands.

I do not intend to be lulled into a false sense of security, however...

It certainly is gratifying to see the grand bargain, read bamboozlement, on immigration has fizzled out!

This administration has an agenda to push with cheap labor no matter the cost to the working taxpayer and it will continue.

The senate planned on a quick passage without scrutiny which faiiled. As time passed more and more of the bill's provisions came out. They had to kill it to keep the full atrocity out of public view.

Pressure needs to be kept up encouraging our senators to simply enforce the law already in existence. First step is to build the fence the full 700+ miles as was passed last freakin' year. While the fence is under construction a few high profile perp walks with employers doin' the shuffle will make the point loud and clear.

It the fight over? No way. This is the second time the senate passed the same legislation. They want these provisions in law. The question is, "Why"?
