In March of 2003 the Ohio House passed House Bill 12 by a 68-28 veto proof majority

On June 18th, 2003 the Ohio Senate destroyed House Bill 12 and passed it 22-10, a veto proof majority.

On June 19th, the Ohio House moved session to 7:30pm in the evening. Shortly after starting session at 8:00pm they recessed until 10:30pm, which didn't really take place until 11:00pm.

The Ohio House just reconvened and immediately addressed Substitute House Bill 12. Representative Jim Aslanides mentioned that the Ohio Senate adopted numerous amendments and changes and respectfully asked the entire House to NOT concur with House Bill 12.

By a stunning 83-5 vote the Ohio House has rejected the Senate's version of House Bill 12

A conference committee is tentatively scheduled for 12:00 noon on Friday, June 20th, 2003. This hearing will take place at 110 and should be open to the public.

IF YOU ATTEND THIS MEETING PLEASE WEAR YOUR OHIOANS FOR CONCEALED CARRY SHIRTS Regardless of if you have done so or not, please make your position on Ohio House Bill 12 known to you Senators AND Representatives as what comes out of the conference committee may very well go back to BOTH houses before Saturday. The Ohio Senate has scheduled session THROUGH Saturday in an apparent effort to recess by the end of this week. It is still feasible that a bill will be adopted, passed, and sent to the Governor before July. The efforts of our grass roots volunteers is what continues to keep the pressure on these efforts. Please, don't stop now.

Yes but,

from ofcc....
"However, the Ohio Senate, blaming budget matters when the Ohio House was
in session through almost 2:00am debating the budget on the floor AFTER
rejecting HB12 at 10:45pm, has not appointed members to the conference
committee."

and

'In a recent Associated Press wire report Senate President Doug White's
(R-14) spokeswoman Maggie Mitchell said that, since Taft had agreed to
support the Senate version of the bill, "we don't feel we need a
conference committee."'

how can the house work so well and the senate be so warped:scrutiny:
