Decent way of attaching a tac-light to HD shotgun. Is this Laserlyte rail any good?

Anybody have any experience with this Laserlyte shotgun tactical light rail?

It looks okay (not great, but okay/kind of hard to tell about the steel from a picture though) and most importantly it looks like it would work on my shotgun, but when it's going for less than $28 I'm not too sure of its quality or whether it would stand up to a whole lot of use in the long term.

I'm looking for a decent way of attaching a tac-light to a Franchi Law 12 ga. semi-auto shotgun. I want something that's going to hold up long term and I don't really mind paying a little bit of money to get something that's of decent quality.

Comments?

Anyone know of another way of attaching a light to this shotgun or of another brand of rail/attachment?

Installed the mount on a Mossy 590. Found it to be well a designed and made accessory.

However, the installation was not an unalloyed pleasure. I wanted to install the barrel heat shield at the same time. It wasn't fun getting the heat shield mount tabs to compress enough to get the tri-mount over them. I ended up using 6/32 screws, washers, and nuts to squash the heat shield tabs enough to tap the tri-barrel mount into position. After that, it was pretty easy, except for LaserLyte providing the wrong sized allen wrench for their bolts. %#@$#%^!!! Fortunately, my tool box had the very small allen wrench required.

Note: On the 590 9 Shot, the forward sling attachment may interfere with a low-slung light/laser like the Streamlight TLR-2 I'm hoping to use. I might either mount it on the side or get an extender that will add another 3/8 or so of additional height to the rails. Anyone know of such an item?

Bought one from the company "Outdoor Accessories" off of Amazon.com the other week. It only cost $20.45 the s&h was $4.50

The mount is only 1.4inches so it fit perfectly between the forearm and magazine cap on my Charles Daly Field Tactical. Plan on ordering another one in the future for my Mossberg 500.

Without being attached to a heat shield, there might be a tiny bit of movement (left/right-vertically) on the magazine tube. A few strips of electrical tape will hold it tight in place. Add too much and it will take a some effort to remove- which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Gordon : There a good mount!

Was there supposed to be a picture attached or something???

Charles Foxtrot and Zantar, thanks for the input.

It's kind of comforting that someone took a look at the thing and thought it was well made for the money (even if it did turn out to be a pain in the ass to install/I'm always paranoid about wasting money when I buy something that cheap).
