Am looking for a 9mm pistol, and since I am in France prices are a little wierd. So am looking mainly at used pistols and my options currently are:

1. A Glock 17 with about 1K rounds down range for about 600 USD
2. A Cz 75 with about 2K rounds down range for about 450 USD
3. A HK M7 P8 with a silencer with an unknown amount downrange for about 800 USD.

Or should I just bite the bullet and buy a new pistol?

You are already past some retail pricing for very good new pistols in the USA.

Never mind the ammuntion. You can always get more.

Juste ma très humble opinion,

The Glock and the CZ are probably the two most reliable 9mm designs ever. I like the H&K just fine, but here in America, I have access to gunsmiths and technicians who can fix or tweak or fix anything, anytime. If you broke a pistol there, or wanted to customize or change it a little bit, I don't know at all how easy it would be for you to get help with a P8, they are VERY new. Glocks and CZs have very long histories and proven track records. I know you can detail strip a Glock with information that is easy to find on the internet, and you can probably do it with a CZ as well. I just don't know about the P8.

here in France finding HK gunsmiths is pretty straight forward.
Hungry Seagull: Everything costs a hell of a lot more in Europe. Its just the way things are. A new G-17 is a little over 1k USD.

Have you held any of these or shot them. I prefer the CZ as it fits my hand really well, is accurate and both of mone have been 100% reliable.

Oh yeah, since you're in France, I do have a neat S.A.C.M. 1935A in 7.65 French Long. :D

If the CZ were $600 and the Glock $400 I'd still get the CZ. The CZ being the lower priced one makes the decision easy. At 2k rounds fired, the CZ is just getting warmed up.

Glocks are tremendously overrated pistols with poor ergonomics. Really, of what use is it to be able to completely dismantle a plastic mold formed at a poor grip angle, filled with a bunch of stampings, and capped by a steel rectangle? At $600, a Glock is a joke. At $1k, I can't stop laughing.
