Watch for Ruger to come out with something like the PF9 soon. I wouldn't be surprised to see it in 2010.

Kel Tec is to me, one of the most innovative companies. And they are not only pro-gun, they make guns for the American people (ie, guns we want). No wonder Ruger is copying them shamelessly.

Oh, and I carry a Kel Tec PF9, and love it.

They're fine little guns, but I wouldn't consider them to be fun range guns. They've taken the inexpensive value market for defensive handguns by storm, but a range toy they ain't.

I've had a P11 for 10 years. No mechanical problems with it. It's my every day carry. Can't beat 10 + 1 in that size and weight. About 500 rounds thru it. An occasional stove pipe, but I think it's an ammo issue. trying to use up some Wolf, I think they are the problem.
I would get another one if I come by one cheap.

Have run Wolf through my P11 without issue, but the factory recommends against using steel case ammo which Wolf is. Not only the steel issue, but Wolf has a laquer coating (to minimize rusting) and running it through a hot gun can cause some gumming, sticking, etc. The steel case is hard on the ejector and the laquer can mess up the eject process. My P11 has never jammed, ever, but I haven't had it 10 years, either...........

I had a couple of jams early on with my P-11 (first 2 magazines) it has run like a top since then. The only other problem I have had is the mag catch got damaged when I was tinkering with it trying to get the magazine to drop free easier. I called Kel Tec & was sent another one. However I purchased a metal one (the factory one was plastic) from a member at KTOG & it has run fine since. If you are considering one of these guns I'd suggest doing some reading at www.ktog.org there is a wealth of information there on Kel Tec products.

Maybe Kel-Tec is less expensive because the company does not employ a bunch of NVA (No Value Added) executives.

Kind of the opposite of our health care providers and institutions of higher learning.
