Deep penetrating 9mm “woods load”

Trying not to judge (city boy here and never seen a moose in the wild). But why wouldn't the snowmobile driver turn around and flee when the moose turned and walked away the first time?

Turning around a snowmobile that isn't moving on a narrow trail like that would've resulted in the person getting stuck, rolled onto their side and then trampled to death.

Given what I saw in this video the moose would have had to get quite a bit further down the trail for that to even been a remote option.

Snowmobiles only turn quickly when one has speed and can really put their weight to one side, hanging on one side of the handle bars while standing on one side of the machine.

That's crazy.

For 99% of the trail turning around quickly is not possible. On most snow mobile trails the way you turn around is you stop. Get of the sled lift the assend up and manually hike it around approximately 180 degrees, may have to grab the skis a few time and pull on them once or twice. It's not done quickly as a typical snow mobile weights around 400lb.
Only place you can make a rapid circle is in a big field or out on a frozen lake. Some times in timber company land the trees are big enough and spaced out enough you can go though the trees and turn around, this is rare.

Snowmobiles don't reverse worth a crap. You can pretty much only reverse on packed snow because the back of the track can't climb over the snow. Some of them don't have reverse at all, but even assuming that one does it wouldn't help you because the snow is too deep off the edge of the trail to reverse through, you will just get stuck.

I like the idea of a lightweight, high cap 9mm as a woods gun.
All the much better with top notch ammo.
The compromise between penetration and expansion is a tightrope. Choose carefully which to favor.
I like those JSPs. That is what I load in my .357s for serious business.

What to call this new class of 9mm?
It's over length seems too long for a lot of guns and that's probably a good thing.
9mm mag
9mm long
9mm ultra
9mm "ruger, T/C and sten only"
