Definitions - a newbie's request

Sirs, I am a newbie in this forum and loved reading all the discussions here about responsible gun ownership. However, is there a sticky thread here where old-timers and moderators in this forum posts all the terminologies and acronyms we are using here? I've been Googling the acronyms that are being used here and still have a hard time looking for the meaning because what we use here only applies to guns/survivalists.

Until now, I still don't know what a LEO, GSW, AHSA, etc. means. But I already learned the meaning of BG, CCW, SHTF, TSHTF. Please help us newbies learn the lingo!

well... leo is law enforcement officer.... IMO -in my opinion. IMHO- in my honest opinion. LMAO -laughing my @$$ off... not sure about the others you have listed...

Welcome to THR, Patrick. If you'll look at the top of this (and every THR) page, you'll find a link to the THR Library on the right hand side. It's a page of useful reference links.

At the Library page, if you scroll down, you'll find some links in its bottom, left hand corner that go to pages that list and define terms and abbreviations.

Here's a link to one of those.

There are various others for your reading enjoyment. The Acronym Finder, for example, has broad applicability outside the world of shooting.

hahahaha that was awesome. the only acronym I like better was one I made up while in the army, where we have hundreds of them. me and my buddy Tad were hanging out in his room in the barracks, I get up and say "I've got to go Tad."
he says "alright see ya later man"
I then walk into his bathroom and come out 5 to 10 minutes later after doing my business
he says "I thought you had to go, couldn't you have done that in your room??"
I say "I don't have to go anywhere. I had to go TAD."
he says "what?"
I respond "I had to Take A Dump"
he says "awe that's messed up you can't turn my name into an acronym that means pooping!"

I still use that acronym to this day.

(IMHO, you should research this one carefully before deciding what they're all about... )
