Another cheap AR - I know, how exciting. But this one's kind of interesting.
I was flipping through Bud's today, and saw that Delton released a version 2 of their Sport. This one's got a melonited pencil barrel and a plastic flip-up sight, for $440 delivered. Also a steel magazine, which I thought was kind of weird.

At that point, I don't think the Delton is too far off specs-wise from what S&W and Ruger are offering, and it's $50-$100 less than those guns. And I think the Delton's barrel is a big real-world advantage over those 2. Neither one lines their barrels IIRC, and pencil barrels handle a lot better than the A2 profiles (which I personally see zero reason for).
Again - cheap ARs are basically all the same. But this one is so cheap, and brings enough to the table, that I think it might soon elbow its way alongside the Smith and Ruger as the go-to entry level guns.
