Dems pressured on guns

LAR-15: I agree with you, but rabid NRA haters don't care about facts, just their perception of the facts.

FWIW, NRA was founded long before anybody ever thought the phrase "gun control". The NRA's fight to preserve our Second Amendment is a very recent mission they have accepted out of necessity.

I'm sure I'll get flamed, but...The NRA, just like everything else, is driven by money. If gun control goes away, so does the NRA's paycheck, and so does the NRA.

Who's going to pay the head honchos' salaries when membership dies off due to more and more control laws being shot down?

Honestly I think this is exactly what the NRA needs to bring it back to it's roots and where it should be.

No flame from me, XDSlayer. There's lots of good thinking in what you say and we gun owners need to take it seriously. It's not just the NRA either.

The American Medical Association, like everythiing else, is driven by money. If diseases go away, so do the doctors' paychecks, and so does the AMA. Don't trust your doctor. Medical doctors cause all diseases so they can make money and buy expensive things. Stop seeing doctors when you're ill.

Same for the American Pharmicist Association. Druggists are driven by money too, so if they actually sold you medicine that made you well they'd go broke. Don't trust those people.

Don't go to schools or colleges either, and never learn from a teacher, and for the same reason. They're driven by money just like everyone else. Everyone. So if a teacher actually teaches you anything you would know it and then you wouldn't need that teacher, or the school, or the college. U lrn mre on the ibnegternet, trst me.

Stay away from automobile mechanics and computer repair people. Like everyone else they're driven by money, so if they fix your car or your computers they lose their paychecks. They actually cause mechanical problems in your cars and destroy your computers so they can make money. The more damage they do the more profit they make.

Ministers and priests and the clergy in general .... Like everyone else they're driven by money, so if they actually got rid of evil in the world they'd all be out of jobs and lose their paychecks. If it weren't for them there would be no sin in the world.

And don't get us started about restaurants. They're driven by money too, so if you weren't hungry you wouldn't go into one of them, and they would go broke and lose their paychecks. That's why whenever you go into a restaurant they serve you stuff that actually sucks the food right out of you.

I'm a gun owner. I know these things. Don't flame me.

I hope this is successful. I think congress has an opportunity here to strike while the iron is hot. Nothing about this should prevent us from seeking further redress in the courts as necessary.

This could shortcut the process and move quickly toward setting an example for the rest of the country on how Heller must be implemented. It could also preserve valuable legal resources to address other aspects of our struggle not addressed by the congress.

I can't see a downside. If they don't go far enough, we still have the courts.
