My 8mm FN 49 puts a pretty decent dent into the middle of cases when it ejects. The brass pictured is pretty representative of the average case. Is this stuff still good to reload or is that now a potential weak spot in the brass that could cause problems?

I have reloaded many 7.62x39 and .223's with those dents. A lot of the AK type actions seem to do that. Never had any problems. Just FL sized them and loaded em up.

When I had an FN 49, it did the same thing to the brass. I reloaded it many times without any issues. They will be fine, but will have dents in other places the next time.....

Hope this helps.

My LMT MWS 308 dents brass too. I FL resize and run it through my bolt actions...no more dents.....unless I run them thru the LMT again

A lot of semi autos dent brass....no worries.

It's fine. Getting whacked on the receiver as it ejects doesn't hurt the brass.
Please reduce the size of your pictures.

Yea it's reloadable but a simple adjustment to the gas regulator could prevent the dents from occurring in the first place....that would be my preference.

Sorry for the size, posted from my phone and didn't realize it was that large. I'll load and shoot them. Once they get a few more dents I'll put them through the bolt action and straighten things up.

When you reload and shoot them the dents and dings will blow out. Maybe that's a bad term... Heh. They smooth out.

Like Blarby said, dings are fine. Creases aren't.

I have a saiga .308 befor I put a valmet port buffer I would get dents like those after three or four reloads had a two come apart at the dent. With the buffer I can get 8 to 10 reloade and none ever come apart.
That's with a siaga.

Yeah dents and dings are not a problem but if there is a deep crease or gouge that displaces any brass I would not use that particular piece of brass. Yours all look fine and as mentioned they will blow back out to chamber dimensions when next fired just like oil dents do.:) The problems happen when trying to be cheap and trying to use brass that has been flattened in the neck area and shows a crease even after resizing. Don't ask how I figured this out.

Adjust your gas regulator and you wont have dings or pulled rims like on the first case

Just my two cents
