How's it goin everybody? I Just purchased my first rifle (in my name) a savage 7mm. I went down to pick it up after the 10 days was up, and was told that the department of justice has put a hold/delay on my gun. So I dont know what is going on and it seems like I wont be able to find out until the gun sales goes through or not. They also wouldn't say how long it could take! Any opinions on this one guys? :banghead:

My dealer called them and asked if they could give the information as to why it was being delayed and they told her that we couldn't have that info until I am either accepted or denied. When asked how much longer it would probably take they told the dealer that they couldn't put a time frame on it. The only reason I could think of for this is an offense I had when I was a juvenile. But as a juvenile in California you are not "charged" and when asked if you have been charged you are instructed to say no. I just hope it's not that something from almost 10 years ago coming back to bite me one last time!

Yeah, well, try convincing them that something you did 22 years ago shouldn't stop you from purchasing your firearm.

I wish you the best of luck, but right now the gov seems set on denying as many purchases as it can. And in these cases, I'm sorry to say but we are guilty until proved innocent.

They really want to create an underclass of people who can't vote, can't own guns, can't travel, and can be legally discriminated against in terms of employment.

It just seems like they're trying to make the honest man a dishonest man! I mean come on give me a friggin break, like im gonna put a rifle in my name to go commit a crime. You dont see all these gang bangers walkin into big 5 and buyin they're guns!

DOJ will not give that information to the dealer. It is up to you to call DOJ to find out what is causing the hold.

Yup. Thats what happens when the governmet doen't trust the citizens. They pluck away your rights little by little and next thing you know, you have no course of action to take to make things right again.
