Detroit Metro places to shoot

i'm going to WWC on Saturday for a walk thru - sounds like a very nice place to shoot

Washtenaw is not accepting new members currently according to their web site.. didn't talk to them, but it's stated pretty plainly..

i'd really like the opportunity for longer ranges, but beggars can't be choosers.. push comes to shove i'll join youngs long shot again, just a 2 1/2 hr drive each way.. that's a long way to drive on a saturday or sunday. but a heated shooting house and 1000 yard range are pretty darn nice

Even if WSC isn't accepting new members, non-members can use the 600 yard range for competitions (F-class, a club match at varying distances, and a biathlon format I haven't tried) and for Weds practice sessions. While being open to non-members is required for NRA matches, I'm glad they also do it for club matches and practice sessions.

thanks for the heads up on lake st clair - big fan of smallmouth fishing and now have some fantastic water in the back yard.

back in the day i was a pretty serious coonhunter, will definitely make it a point to attend some of their IDPA matches. Shot a few down in MS and did enjoy them.

well i am a pending member of the WWCSA, one of the gentlemen at the club today was kind enough to sponsor me and we wrote a check for the annual dues, initation fee and range fees. $280 bucks annually roughly for a very nice shotgun range with skeet, trap and 5 stand, pistol, rifle to 200 and archery.. 20 mins from the front door, figure that is money well spent.. they have Euchre night twice a month and have a little sandwich shop type kitchen and a decent bar.. really darn good faciliites for a shooter.. Have to take the RSO class and will be good to go

appreciate the feedback from you all
