Just a few hours after completing our TIGER Valley Defensive Pistol Course, I'm ready for some more! I thought TJ Pilling and the guys from TIGER Valley did an excellent job, but before we broke up the topic of discussion was doing a low light pistol course in the evening. TJ's suggestion was a Thursday evening, probably starting around 7-7:30 PM.

I say we kick it around a little (after some obligatory polling from Tech Brute ;) ), then pick a date in June. I'm sure there will be some of you that will have to consider family vacations, so if you make a date recommendation, also include the dates you absolutely can't attend. That ought to give us an accurate idea of what we have to work with.

BTW, if any of you folks reading this weren't able to attend today's event, please don't think these are closed events. The more the merrier, and I think you'll find that the level of instruction is top notch and the money spent is a screamin' bargain.

I had a blast...(pun deffinantly intended). Thanks Geegee. How about Friday or Saturday nights? Thursdays nights I have to work, bar none, and I REALLY want to take that course. I have had very limited low light training and could use some "show me". I'm in if we can do it one of those nights.

Techbrute.....when you get done shooting trees take a moment and post a poll.:D

What? You guys didn't see Techbrute blast that tree on the side of the berm?:uhoh: :p :neener:

I think Friday or Saturday would really limit the attendance, but if we couldn't all do Thursday, my next choice would probably be a Tuesday. Man, we could really use a poll here...:p

Why would Friday and Saturday limit people? I would think more people would be up for a Friday or Saturday training.....(you get to sleep in for the next day).

Not to put too fine a point on the answer, but...Helloooooo...Mr. Newlywed! In a few more years, try telling your wife and kids you're disappearing on a Friday or Saturday night for a shooting class! :uhoh:

I guess the other good reason for a Thursday, is when I asked TJ which night would be best for him and his guys, he said Thursday. I'm guessing there's a shot at another night, but I'd be surprised if he'd go for Friday or Saturday (althought I could be wrong about that).

Hey, I almost forgot to ask you something. Tech Brute was wondering why you left so much of the middle of your targets untouched? I said I thought you wanted to recylcle the paper, but I wasn't sure. :neener:

Sounds like someone needs to put on the "pants":D

How could Techbrute even SEE the center of my target? He certainly couldn't SEE his.:neener:

He did do nicely taking out that charging tree however.....can we spell "A....D....?":what:

Ok, Mr. NW, I'll let you in on a secret that some guys take years to figure out. The more times you put on your "pants," the less hers come off.

Anyway, pretty much any evening is good with some notice. Was out all day buying a house, so I wasn't able to jump on the poll. Today was pretty good. The 30lpi checkering on my TLE was starting to give me some serious callouses. Not to mention fending off man-eating trees and getting hit by birdshot.

I had a great time and plan to attend this one as well. I don't have a regular evening commitments so no pareticulat evening causes definite problems. I think during the week would be better for most, me anyway.

I'm open to any evening.

Just bought a couple Streamlight Twin-Task for the cars. Have been trying to decide on a good conbat light.
Leaning towards the Surefire g2z.

Funny, married w/ a couple kids and all of a sudden Friday and Saturday nights aren't what they used to be.

TJ's class seemed to be VERY beneficial. Have quite a few 'bad' habbits I need to work on and retrain my techique; or lack there-of.

I certainly had a great time. I have posted in the poll with my days available. Most evenings work well with notice. I learned quite a bit thats for sure.

geegee: 2 things...what was the name of that website we spoke about for the RKBA stickers. Also, since you have the most rapport with TJ, I have an idea. Since most of us can not likely break away for a full 2 day course, and we already got a taste of it. Can we have him actually break that entire 2 day class into 2-3 hour segments so we can all get the training...a little at a time.

Alduro....what was the deal with your friends HK...slide not locking back? Have you had any FTE or stove pipes on your SigPro?

Plenty of great decals and other gear!

That's always the problem-getting the days cleared to train. I guess we'd need to come to some sort of consensus before I approached him with the idea. He's willing to do the Low Light Shooting class in the evening, and as we all witnessed yesterday, a two hour course of training from TJ and his crew is well worth the $35.00. I have no idea how flexible he'll be on splitting up the remainder of his courses, but if you think of it, that's really what we'd be doing if we took a course each month. I don't think there's anything magical about the two hour time frame-I'm sure if we could get another ten or more guys involved, we could get him and his guys to do a four hour class (or all day course, like a Saturday), if it could be worked out.

The thing to remember is that for all of the TIGER Valley guys, this is a second job, so whatever we plan is being done with whatever time they have left over from their regular job. If we can get enough shooters to make it worth their while, we'll have a much better chance of getting more flexibility with what they'll offer us.

GeeGee: I figured a few of the guys may want some and I wanted to make paying for shipping worth it. The stickers are only $1.50 each.

Techbrute / Pricksoot (as once previously identified): Yep, its a soccermom mobile!

Anywhere to shoot today?

All my usual ranges are closed for Memorial Day - I need to find a country hideout!

And I thought TJ's instruction was terrific - I'd be up for ANYTHING else we can schedule, 2 hour, 2 day or whatever.

I also think I'd rather caravan to Waco than get incoming fire again, but at least I got a good reminder about eye protection!

No kidding. Five more minutes of that, and we might as well have been given some bright pink clay pigeons to hold over our heads! :uhoh:

I agree about TJ's class. Now we need to get going to schedule the "Low Light Shooting" class. Some evening from around 7:00 or 7:30 to 9:00 or 9:30. This could be the summer everyone's shooting skills get some real improvement. Who's with me?!!!!! :D

geegee:

I am in...where do I sign???!!!

Got my RKBA and other assorted stickers in a couple days ago...nice touch.
