Diane Sawyer - Hit Piece on Guns Friday Night

"If I only had a gun" is coming this Friday night. Look for it to be a hit piece on gun owners in general. The previews I have seen show silly simulations that are designed to show that having a concealed weapon would be of no use against a madman on a rampage. After the New York shooting she went on an anti-gun tear for ten minutes on the news that night asking "where's the gun control we need"? Her assertion here will be that it is safer to be an unarmed victim than to be armed for self defense, and that most people couldn't really use a gun anyway.

Now the co-host John Stossel has been fairly pro-gun the few times I have seen him tackle the issue, so who knows, he might stick up for us gunners, but Diane is a gun-grabbing AWB supporting hack.

Never mind that one well practiced CCW holder could have probably stopped much or all of the killing. But of course, NY doesn't like CCW, and the building had a "no guns allowed" rule. Worked real well for them huh???

So anyway, this should be worth watching, just to see what the anti-gunners are going to try to brainwash the pro-Obama sheep with to get the AWB back on the table. The Mexico thing didn't work, so on to new tactics I guess.

well...that's a new one on me...I have gone to many Scottish and Irish festivals at the civic center. Nowhere did I see anything that said "No Firearms Allowed". Guess I'll look into that. A lot of upstate NY issuing officials are giving CCW permits nowadays. Even here in dreaded Broome County. The issuing judge requires that people that want full carry must take a class on carrying. Rochester Defensive Institute does a very good job for a weekend class. The judge wants people to know ART. 35(Use of Force, Deadly Physical Force, Force Continuum, etc...) AND what the legal ramifications are to doing so. As a staunch 2nd Amendment supporter, I see the judge doing this to protect his decision to issue the permit to the person requesting it...but...it also insures that the holder of said permit knows what is expected of him/herself and that they know that they can't draw down on a 15 yr. old that just stole a pack of gum from the store.
As you may have guessed, I live here near Binghamton and I work about 3 blocks from where the massacre took place. NONE of the victims had a freakin chance. The shooter knew the building, knew how the classroom was set up...combine those elements with "Violence of Action" and you have a massacre. He blocked the rear door to the building with his car...went in...and, well we know the rest. It was over before the first car rolled up on the scene. He had to be ID'd by fingerprints. Guess he used the .45 on himself. THAT was the smartest thing he'd done all morning.

Might not be a bad idea if we actually watched the show before pulling out our six-guns and firing them into the air, folks. Just a thought ...

Ditto. Those previews were so corny and full of BS. I mean come on, they show a small child pointing a pistol at his or her head. Well, GEEZ! If you don't know what a gun is because of stupid liberal parents, this will happen. Thus their simply taking the whole scene out of context.
