so i went to the local gun store today to buy a 22. ive got about 10 guns in all, mostly hunting rifles, but ive never owned a 22. so i go in thinking im gonna leave with a 10/22, hopefully in stainless. i want to make the gun feel as much like my rem 700 deer rifle.

so i walk in and the guy asks if he can help me and i tell him i want a 22. well he starts callin out the brans and the price. the only stainless one he had was a tc. i held it and loved it. he seemed like he had better things to be doing, there were some older guys in there waiting (im only 18) and he wanted to get a sell from them. so i tell him ill take it and he got a puzzled look on his face and i said. im gonna buy this one. well he gets the paper work and as im filling it out he goes in the stock room to get one for me.

so i go to pay and my card gets declined. its a debt card and i put money in the bank today and the cashier is about my age and just as cute as can be, so im embarrassed as hell. so after running it a few times she tells me that she banks at the same place i do and ask if i have a daily spending limit. i tell her yes and tell her how much. well she says that her spending limit is $50 less than mine. end of story, we decide that my spending limit is $50 less than i thought. so i put the gun on lay away, paid for half of it, and im payin the rest tomorrow.

so i go the gun, with one of thoughts federal bulk 22 packs for $294. howd i do?

im not sure of the model, its a 22, stainless, kind of heavy barrel, synthetic stock, 5 round mag, and fiber optic sights. would this be the newer r55 or one of the older models?

If you got a t/c for under 300 bucks, which is one of the best 22's you can get, especially for a semi auto, then you did damn fine, also stick with feddy, and winny bulk pacs, and avoid remmy and cci bulk pacs, they are stinky , dirty, and unreliable. Also American Eagle red box, which federal also sells, is very good and accurate, for being the cheapest of the single boxes.

yes it looks like that one, but im not sure if it is. it was on sale for $249, so i think it might be one of the older ones. does anyone know if tc ever made a stainless 22 before the r55?

so ive decided to take the burris 3-9x40 off my hunting rifle and put it on the 22. ill probably get a stronger burris with an illuminated cross hairs for the big gun, i just thought the ballistic drop marks would be nice with a 22.

Highpower rifle scopes are usually set to be paralax free @ 100 yards. Smallbore scopes are paralax free @ 50 yards. Doesn't necesarily mean you can't use HP scope on a rimfire, but may have problems and will need to be careful to position head/eye same from one shot to the next. This is a good idea to reduce group size anyway, but can be more critical if paralax set for 100 yds. and you are shooting 50 yds. or less.

You can check paralax by pointing rifle @ a 50 yard target (resting on sandbags) and moving your eye side to side without moving rifle. If crosshairs seem to move back and forth, you have paralax and unless eye is in exact same spot from one shot to the next, your group will open up.

Seems like I recall reading somewhere that Burris would reset paralax on their scopes for a small fee if owner wished to use on RF, but not sure.

hps

so the gun is the 22 classic silver lynx. as soon as i got it home and started playin with it i noticed the magazine dosnt want to fall out of the gun and keeps gettin stuck in it. im kinda disappointed that its not the r55 but oh well.

does anyone know if they make a 10 round magazine for this gun like the r55? or will the r55 mags work in it?

but you didn't get the cashier's number

actually i did, haha.
