Did you ever buy back a gun you sold...I mean the exact SAME gun?

Well, I did. I needed some dough and sold it to my dear friend and fellow THR member Ulflyer. he knew how well it shot and always teased me about when I was going to sell it to him. I told him never! Of course, one should "never say never."

So, one day, in need of some quick cash, I sold it and he enjoyed it. Recently, he was willing to let it go and I was eager to get it back where it belonged. So, I bought it back and we laughed, and shot off a few rounds together, and a good time was had by all. Welcome home, DW Patriot.

Anyone else ever buy back a gun they sold?

Oh yes, several times actually. There's actually one gun in my collection that I have owned 3 separate times.

Ah, the follies of obsessive gun trading.

No i hope to never part with any of my guns! Well, except maybe that maverick 88... i dont think i would miss that gun. But i wouldnt get rid of it until i replaced it with a mossberg 500 or such. :D

Nice pistol BTW, glad it found you again :)

Right after my divorce a few years back and in need of some fast cash I sold my Kimber Pro Carry to my buddy. About 3-4 months later I bought it back thinking I had the money, but a couple of months later I sold it back to him. We did this back and forth thing 5-6 times before I finally got back on my feet well enough to keep it. :)

Yes, My first wife's grandfather had a wonderful S&W1955 .45ACP revolver that developed a bit of rust, when he discovered it after years of night stand duty he decided he wanted something in the new fangled stainless steel. I never hesitated, offered him my new S&W 686 .357Mag in trade and promply bought another 686 and had the 1955 refinished. That 1955 remains one of my most prized possessions. That 686 is still the revolver I shoot the most.

While married, I bought my wife a postwar Mauser HSc in .380ACP and an Astra Constable in .22LR (and I had the Astra hard chromed by Metalife Industries).

When we divorced, my ex-wife took the guns with her (because they were hers, after all).

Many years later, when she felt that she didn't need the guns any more, I bought them back from her. They cost a fair amount more the second time around :).

My grandpa did. His war trophy Luger. Sold it to his best friend and bought it back, I think twice. Finally sold it to a stranger and never got it back. Wish he hadn't sold it. :(

I sold a Buckmark to Rockstar.esq under the proviso that if he ever wanted to get rid of it, I wanted first crack. I bought it back, had it for about a week and then thought "Why did I buy this thing back?", so I took it to a gunshow and sold it. In the process, I accidentally ripped the guy off, because I forgot the magazine was in my pocket until we were many miles away. If that guy is a THR member, man, I am sorry.

Sold a batch of guns to a dealer when I got hit up for some back taxes....my S&W 25-2 sat in the pawn shop case for 3 months and I was able to buy it back. I just wish the rest of them had stayed put also!

A S&W 625-2 mod or 1988. Sold it for $300 in early 2000's for $300, it had some minor issues. Bought it back for $340 after the guy I sold it to had it fixed. He wants it back:) Same guy sold me back a Yugo refurbed 98k also, sold it off though, don't miss it,have another better example. Have bought the same model gun many times even at the same time. Bought three model 10's at one time.

Actually my older brother and I have "sold and bought back" several guns from each other over the past 40 years or so... Even traded him a Winchester 94 .30-30 for a 1960 Ford Ranchero once... Ended up getting the Winchester back a couple of years later in another deal...

My dad sold a Colt 9mm carbine. Then a few years later saw the same gun (but much more beat up) at a gunshow and almost bought it back.

I traded a handgun at a gun shop once and really regretted it, then ended up buying it again from a different shop. The guy in front of me at the counter had it and was going to trade it in for something else; I recognized the serial number and asked if he'd bought it at the other shop. Pretty sure I'm not allowed to get rid of that one now.

Back when I was a dealer, I ordered an Astra 400 in 9x23 Largo for a friend (Sam). He had trouble cocking it (blow-back 9x23... it had a pretty healthy spring!) so I bought it back from him and kept and shot it for years after.

My 9mm WinMag AMT AutoMag III is one I ordered for Sam. When he died, I bought it back from his estate for what he paid for it.

I bought a new Ruger Security Six 20+ years ago, sold it to a friend, and 3 years ago bought it back from him. I don't think he ever shot the gun while he had it. Sadly, needing funds shortly after that I sold it again; life is filled with regrets...

Nope, but there's an XD45 Tactical with a duracoated slide out there I'd buy back in a minute. Sold it to an IL cop and regretted it ever since.
