Okay I recently bought a CZ 75 from Wideners. It's a surplus gun, as they sent me a 1993 model, and it's one of those CZ75's where it's almost a CZ 75B, but the slide still has 9 PARA stamped on it, there is no firing pin block, and the slide stop and safety are Pre B. Other than that it seems to be just like a B model. The frame is a B models frame, and houses there squarer B model magazines just fine, the slide looks like a 75B's slide other than there is no firing pin block or hole in the serrations for the pin, the sights are 75B dovetail sights.
The thing is when I order the gun it looked to be advertise as a 100% Pre B gun so I order a few mods for it, and one of them was a Wolff 16lb recoil spring. Wolff offers both Pre B and B model springs and naturally I took the Pre-B spring.
What's the difference between the Pre-B, and B model recoil springs? Is it actually putting more than a 16lb spring weight in the gun?
The one they sent me is quite a bit longer than the factory one, and racking the slide feels quite a bit heaver than what most gun with 16lb recoil springs feel like. It almost feels as stiff as the 22lb Wolff spring I added to my Glock 20's.(not quite but it's stiff) It also bows real bad, but it seems to rack just fine it's just stiff for the weight of the spring. It's been in the gun for a couple of weeks and has kind of loosened up some. I haven't fired the gun yet, but it seems like a little more than you need for a 9mm. It may do good for some of the +p+ ammo I have.
Here are some crappy pics to show what I'm talking about.
