What is the difference between a S&W 66 and 620? I know the 620 has 7 round cylinder but what else is different? I was thinking of buying one.

Tex

The 66 was a K frame, 6 shot .357. I believe it was a stainless version of the M19. They just (screwed up) and stopped making them recently.

The 620 is an L frame with the new two piece barrel.

Janitor hit it right on the head. For what it is worth, I love my 620. Smooth DA, crisp SA and accurate as hell. I would absolutely recommend this gun to anyone. Good luck with your decision.

P.S.- The 620 does have the S&W internal lock. I personally don't care as I don't lock it, but others act as though the gun is ruined because of this. If you need the safety it is there, if you don't then simply don't lock it:)
