I'm kinda getting the itch to get another AR ( after ditching them in favor of AK's :D ). And I'm wondering about the differences in the Colts. Below is a link to the Target Match model.

As I understand, the 6920 is the full mil-spec version, but how much "less" so is the Target version ? Also, do they make a 20" 6920, I haven't seen any.
Any info much appreciated.......

The LE6920 is the civilian-legal copy of the M4 that Colt sells to law enforcement. They only come in a 16" barrel (the 14.5" barrel version is the LE6921)

The 6601C that you linked to is a 20" HBAR with a fixed compensator pinned on the muzzle. It has permanent A2 sights and a fixed carry handle. Not sure what the other differences might be; but I am sure there are some MT6601C owners who can chime in.

i had the model 6700c, which is the 20" match target model with the pinned compensator, hbar, flat top. weight and size are basically identical to that 6601.

it was gawd-aweful heavy. not something you would want to do anything with other than high power matches.

i ended up selling it and buying a 16" bushmaster that ive been much happier with.

i cant say exactly what is or isnt mil-spec, but if i were choosing an all around rifle i personally wouldnt touch that 20" colt with a ten ft pole.

a thin barreled 20" would be different maybe, but after owning both 20 and 16, i much MUCH prefer the 16".

(on a side note, maybe i got a lemon, but my 16" rifle is more accurate (.75moa) that my 20" match target rifle, (1.25moa) not by much, but 4-5 lbs lighter, much easier to handle, and more accurate = no brainer, at least for me.

get the 6920.

agree with flyin. probably not much "mil-spec" on that 20" HBAR. and the config is pretty much useless.

HBAR = bad
20" = bad
fixed carry handle = bad

if you want a heavy, accurate gun, go with one of the companies that caters to the HP crowd, like RRA or DPMS.

I have the Bushmaster DCM XR and I like the way it handles and performs at CMP shoot.
