I almost used up my favorite Federal XM193 I bought several years ago and now have to restock it. I haven't shop it online for a long time, and when I type in Federal XM193 and search, besides the much higher price:(, I also find that there are many XM193 subtypes pop up. To list just a few:

XM193AF
XM193C
XM193BP
XM193CBP
XM193ACS
......

I tried hard to find out the difference of these subtypes, but all I see is the packaging difference(with clips, in bulk package, or in American Eagle alike box, ..., etc). The ammo all look the same!

Now I get really confused. What the .... happened??? How does Federal come up with some many different subtypes for the XM193? Are the qualities of these XM193s all the same? If not, which one is the closet to our old, original Brown 20rds box one (If you know which one I am talking about :D), and which ones should I avoid?

Thanks,

The ammo is the same, it's just how they are packaged. Federal has confirmed that more than once. There are many threads on this over on Arfcom.

The specification for the ammo itself is the same, the letters at the end simply denote the packaging; bulk, stripper clip, box, etc.

So, pick whatever packaging you like.
