I didn't really see a place to introduce myself so this is my first post. I have recently ordered a dillon 650 press, auto shell feeder, aluminum handle, strong mount, bullet tray and two caliber conversion kits.
I plan on reloading .45 ACP and .38 spcl initially. I ordered two, three die sets from cabelas. The brand is RCBS. The cost was $42 for each three die set. One of 45 and the other 38spcl. I might start with Lee dies but have not made the decision yet. The press should arrive on Jan 19th for me to pickup. i ordered it from a Dillon authorized dealer in Graniteville, SC called Magnum Products. I have not decided what type of bullets I will be using yet. The press is two fold. One for saving money in the long run.Two because of the scarcity of ammunition lately. The average cost for .45 Full Metal Jacket ammo here has been an average of $0.35 - $0.45 cents per round based on who makes it. I did pick up 1000 rounds of Military .45acp full jacket for $280 with the can($0.28 each). The downside to this is that the primers are crimped in place and I will have to purchase a swager and do some extra work to allow the shells to accept the new primers. I guess it is a labor of love. I still need to build a table that will fit in my hallways and bedroom doors in my home. I look forward to reading the forum here and being a part of the community.

Fixitman, Welcome to the XL-650 world, use Dillon dies..........Black Dime
what is taped to your powder measures? I see you have Direct TV.

I will bet the device taped to the powder measures is a type of vibratration or ultrasonic device used to help the powder flow into the throw without bridging or packing at the funnel neck.
