I was thinking of getting the Dillon case trimmer for my .223 brass on my 550b. I was wondering if anyone who has tried it didn't like it or thought it wasn't worth the price.
I have the WFT trimmer and it works fine but, I was looking to speed things up. As I can also omit the debur and chamfer step needed after using the other trimmers.
Also can I use the Dillon trimmer in the full progressive loading process or do I need to do this as a separate step?

I have the 1500 trimmer for my 650xl. Using a casefeeder also it makes a quick job of trimming brass.

But, since you have to lube the cases prior to the sizing/trimming operation, most guys, if not all would do this in a seperate operation. When I'm done sizing, my brass makes another trip to the tumbler to clean lube off.

Once the brass is cleaned of the lube, then it goes into my casefeeder for the prime, powder, powder check, bullet seat, and bullet crimp operations.

Steelworker do you deprime on the first sizing. If so do you have to check for stuck media in the primer pocket or flash hole?

They are fast and loud, I wear ear plugs but have size/deprime and trimmed as many as 1800 cases in an hour.

For .223 I have two size/deprime dies, one before and one after trimming all set to case gauge the same. The one after was the key to making the bullet feeder on my loading press work 100% and is faster than a chamfer as its just another die in the process pass.

No matter what you will have to make two passes as the trimmer is large enough in diameter it makes is so you couldn't put a die on either side of it, so I use stations #1, 3&5.

I have both the 1200 and the 1500, both work great. The 1500 is quieter and seems to run cooler.
