I bought a dillon xl650 for .223 rem ,and i want to buy the Dillon's Rapid Trim 1200B Case Trimmer with the right rapid Trim 1200 B Size/Trim Die
question:
Where in the tool head I will install that trimmer
May I buy another tool head ,because I don't want to mess with the .223 dies and etc...
tks.

I own two Dillon's but never used their power trimmer since I feel it's too expensive for my tastes. Having said that however, all Dillon equipment is of the highest quality in my opinion. Why not go right to the source and call Dillon with your questions. Their Customer Service Dept is one of the best around and they will be more than glad to help you. :)

tks alot for the pic

tks jmorris ,what's the other die on the opposite side of the motor???decapping?
tks.

jmorris' is setup just like mine except I use a Loadmaster press. The die on the right is a resize/deprime die. When running the brass up in the trim die I pause a second or so to allow the trim to finish and vacuum the trimmings. I have a vacuum attached to the trim motor. It gets noisy with the vacuum running so I wear ear protection.

It works very well - just make sure you lube the cases well as they are going into a die twice.

Setting up the trim motor and die is a bit of a pain but once it's done you don't have to deal with it anymore unless a case gets stuck. Then you have to take it apart. I recommend you have an RCBS stuck case remover at hand because it will probably happen.

Trimmer Setup

My trimmer is setup on a dedicated RCBS Reloader Special. The Dillon trim/size die does a full length size as part of the trim-to-length. There might be an advantage to sizing in a separate step, but I have never done so.

I'm looking to buy another trimmer unit if anyone has one for sale.

Yes, station #1 on the 650 is a carbide size/deprime die then #4 is trim, then into the 1050 with another size die at station #2 (all three set the same) and the rest of the operations. The 1050 is now auto drive so I can trim, size and load at the same time. Not shown is a board at the bottom of a closed window, with a hole for the hose for the vac so it is outside, but the trimmer is still pretty loud.

All in one?

Is it possible to use the trimmer with all the other 3 dies in the same tool head?just one job?
Tks

No, that is the down fall of all progressives even the Dillon super 1050 can't do it all.

If you are looking for the 8th stage on a 1050 #1 is putting the bras in.
